Pavel Pokidyshev creates his own world in his paintings, populated by characters that seem to come from the late Renaissance, or from the brilliant eighteenth-century. Classical face and the decorative pattern are the artist’s distinguishing features; he was inspired by the sports that Russian nobles were fond of — hunting, sailing and riding. The artist showed the delight faces and always paid attention on the softness texture against the solid subject.
